Free Play is the free ticket prize a player is entitled to, for matching 3 of 7 numbers in LOTTO MAX or 2 of 6 numbers in LOTTO 6/49. For the convenience of players, all prizes of less than $1,000, including Free Plays, are automatically validated and paid into players’ accounts. Free Play numbers are always randomly computer-generated and are entered into the next scheduled draw.
What do I get with Free Play?
If you win a Free Play in LOTTO MAX, your ticket will consist of three sets of seven numbers. A LOTTO 6/49 Free Play consists of one set of six numbers and one Guaranteed Prize Draw selection.
Do I get to pick my own numbers for Free Play?
All Free Play numbers are computer-generated.
Can I pick when I can use my Free Play?
No, all Free Play prizes are automatically validated and entered into the next scheduled draw.
Can I add ENCORE to my Free Play ticket?
As the prize is awarded to your account automatically when you win, there is not an option to add ENCORE on to your Free Play.
ANo, a Free Play does not replace your subscription purchase. Any Free Play is considered an additional play that is above and beyond any plays purchased for your Subscription. If you don’t have sufficient funds in your account to fulfil your subscription, a Free Play will not take the place of your subscription play.
AThe winning numbers of the last two draws are posted on the Lottery page. You can check the numbers, but you cannot validate or redeem your ticket online. A ticket purchased at a retailer must be taken back to a retailer to be validated and redeemed. For older results, please visit the draws results page on OLG.ca.
AYes. PlayOLG Lottery Subscriptions allow you to purchase for future draws, up to 104 LOTTO MAX and/or up to 104 LOTTO 6/49, paying as you go so you never forget to buy your ticket.
Select the number of draws you want to play or choose ‘Never Miss a Draw’ to continue playing until you decide to cancel. You can select your own numbers using ‘Let Me Pick’ or have your numbers chosen randomly with ‘Auto Pick.’
AAll PlayOLG Lottery winnings under $1,000.00 will be automatically credited to your account, and you will be notified. If you’ve won a Free Play, the numbers will be computer-generated and the ticket will be automatically applied to the next lottery draw. For winnings between $1,000.00 and $100,000.00, you will be prompted to fill out a Lottery Prize Claim Declaration Form (LPCD Form). Once you’ve successfully submitted the form, OLG will either credit your PlayOLG account or contact you for next steps.
For cash prizes of over $100,000.00, you must also submit a LPCD Form. Once you’ve successfully submitted the form, the OLG Prize Centre will contact you with next steps.
AA PlayOLG.ca is designed for individual lottery play. However, if you are claiming a prize on behalf of a group, then the prize claim must proceed through a manual paper process via the OLG Prize Centre. If you have played on behalf of a group and don't divulge your involvement in such group then your prize claim will likely be delayed or perhaps even disqualified.
AAll net proceeds are paid into the Consolidated Revenue Fund for the Province of Ontario, which provides funding to hospitals, sport, recreational and cultural activities, and to charitable organizations and non-profit corporations through the Ontario Trillium Foundation. For more information on the economic benefits of lotteries and other OLG gaming activities, please visit our OLG Gives Back page.
